Weddings

Weddings at Gunnebo House and Gardens start with a marriage ceremony in the House or the Treillage arbour, followed by dinner in our restaurant. We provide a wonderful setting suitable for smaller weddings of 30-40 guests. Gunnebo is run sustainably and we make the most of what the seasons have to offer when it comes to flowers as well as ingredients from the garden and the surrounding countryside. We have selected 10 suitable dates throughout the year during which weddings can be booked.

MARRIAGE CEREMONY FOLLOWED BY A RECEPTION

The location for your ceremony can either be the House’s grand neo-classical salon or, if weather allows, Gunnebo’s reconstructed treillage. This majestic seven metre high arbour provides a magical frame to your ceremony.

Your chosen location will be decorated with a bouquet of flowers from Gunnebo’s own gardens. There is also a Steinway grand piano in the salon which can be used during the ceremony. Our guides will act as hosts both in the house and garden, before and during the ceremony.

Gunnebo’s own curator Johanna Lindén is a registrar and you can book her on our 10 selected wedding dates, or make arrangements for a different registrar.

DINNER AND RECEPTION

The toast

The courtyard in front of our restaurant will be the setting for a toast before the wedding reception.  In spring and summer it’ll be decorated with pretty citrus trees and plants from our Orangery. On chilly winter days we’ll light a fire pit instead to gather around, and candle lit lanterns will show the way in to the restaurant.

The reception room

Gunnebo’s restaurant, Kaffehus och Krog, is a lovely and intimate space in the heart of the kitchen garden. The tables will be laid and decorated with flowers from our own gardens. Each season has something to offer to the welcoming ambience of the room. During summer the doors to the courtyard can be opened to let the sunshine in, and in winter the hand crafted wrought iron chandelier is lit which, alongside the fire in the ceramic stove, provides a cosy warmth and cheer. The reception room is reserved exclusively for you.

The wedding dinner

Seasonality decides what ends up on the menu. Most of the ingredients come from our own kitchen garden or from small scale organic farms in the area. The day’s harvest is served with meat from animals that have grazed in our cultural reserve, or with a sustainable alternative from the sea. Our chefs, gardeners and sommeliers compose the menu together to work out the best food and drink combination for your wedding.

Drinks

At Gunnebo we only select organic artisan wines from small scale eco-friendly vineyards, using no pesticides or additives in their manufacturing process. This results in genuine wines which reflect both the local climate and the person behind them. We also serve delicious alcohol free drink alternatives, made from seasonal berries and vegetables, as a balanced flavour pairing to the meal. Our selection also includes juice and lemonade made by small scale suppliers sharing our sustainability philosophy.

Wedding cake from Gunnebo’s artisan bakery

The wedding cake is made in our artisan bakery, using organic seasonal ingredients. Read more about our organic cakes here

Flowers

The flowers come from our own certified organic flower beds and vary according to the season. Our concept is to provide what looks loveliest on the day and let nature guide us. We’ll happily tell you more about it during the planning meeting.
