The 18th century Gunnebo estate is an oasis for history, learning and tranquillity. A perfect weekend activity with friends, where you can enjoy a good lunch prepared with locally produced ingredients or snack from our artisanal bakery. Bring the family to explore the countryside and gardens or visit the farm animals. All year round you can take tours of the house and the verdant cultural heritage as well as attending our popular events such as the Midsummer celebrations, the manor house theatre, concerts, exhibitions, lectures and markets. Welcome to a magical place where time stood still, and yet close to the city pulse of Gothenburg.

Gunnebo is known for its well-preserved buildings and its carefully restored gardens. Here you will find everything from a symmetrical baroque garden to a romantic English park and an organic cultivation area.

Gunnebo House and Gardens is one of Sweden’s most eminent historic places and a popular visitor attraction close to Gothenburg. With its well-preserved 1700s landscape and organic cultivations, our gardens offer an inspiring experience for new visitors as well as returning gardening enthusiasts.

Gunnebo is so much more than a manor house, it is a living cultural landscape where historical buildings, ostentatious gardens and tranquil nature builds a unique entity. Here in the 100-hectar-large cultural reserve, discoveries await all ages, all year round.

Gunnebo Cultural Reserve

Gunnebo Cultural Reserve is one of Västra Götaland’s most unique historical places. With its well-maintained 1700s landscape, it is a place for both relaxation and exploration. The Cultural Reserve includes Gunnebo House and Gardens, as well as the surrounding land and buildings.

Public transport to Gunnebo

The nearest bus-stop is Gunnebo park, from there it is a short walk of 900 m.

Bus connection to Gunnebo

  • Bus 754 Heden-Mölndal via Helenedal (circa 15 minutes)
  • From Mölndals Bro bus 754 to Heden via Helenedal (circa 10 minutes).

Cycle to Gunnebo

There are several cycle paths to Gunnebo. You can choose the cycle path from Mölndal, and follow the path to Gunnebo, or from Gothenburg, via Delsjömotet. 


There are cycle-stands in three different places at Gunnebo: by the Runde stone, by the white plank beside Gunnebo Coffee House and Tavern, as well as by the stone wall between the farm and kitchen gardens.

Drive to Gunnebo

Gunnebo House is easy to reach by car from both the E6 and Route 40. There are 295 parking spaces in all, including places for the disabled.

Parking meters are available at all locations. 

No parking is permitted in the gardens for security reasons.
